The Science

Long-Form, Evidence-Based Research for Every Active in Every Nutropx Product

This is the deep end of the Nutropx site. Every page in this section is a structured ingredient dossier built on primary research — PubMed-indexed clinical trials, mechanism studies, and pharmacology — with honest disclosure of dose context, study limitations, and what the evidence does and does not support. No marketing claims that aren’t backed by the cited literature. Built for customers who want to verify the research themselves.

How we built these pages
Real, verified studies Every citation has a PMID or DOI. Nothing fabricated, nothing extrapolated beyond what the research actually says.
Honest dose context When studies used higher doses than our products, we say so explicitly — not just in the fine print.
Null findings disclosed When major trials reported no effect, we cite them too. Selective citation is bad science.
Structure-function language No disease claims. No “clinically proven.” No “guaranteed.” Just what the research supports.

5-Brain® Ingredients

· The six actives in 5-Brain®

5-Brain® is a six-ingredient cognitive formula designed around five distinct brain systems: Memory & Learning, Focus & Attention, Mood & Stress Resilience, Brain Energy & Longevity, and Neural Communication. Each ingredient has its own dedicated dossier below.

5-Brain® · 200 mg
Bacopa Monnieri
Leaf extract, standardized to 20% bacosides
3,000 years of Ayurvedic use, modern RCTs in healthy adults. The deepest healthy-adult clinical research base of any ingredient in 5-Brain®. Effects emerge at 8–12 weeks of consistent daily use.

5-Brain® · 500 mg
Acetyl-L-Carnitine
ALCAR · Crosses blood-brain barrier
An amino-acid derivative with two well-characterized roles: supporting mitochondrial energy metabolism, and serving as an acetyl-group donor for acetylcholine synthesis.

5-Brain® · 200 mg
Ginkgo Biloba
Leaf 20:1 extract
270 million years old as a species, extensively studied for cerebral circulation mechanisms. The dossier discloses both positive findings and major null results.

5-Brain® · 50 mg
Sharp-PS® Green Phosphatidylserine
Sunflower-derived · Soy free, non-GMO
Phosphatidylserine accounts for 13–15% of phospholipids in the human cerebral cortex. The only supplement ingredient with FDA qualified health claims relating to cognitive function.

5-Brain® · 150 mg
Meriva® Curcumin Phytosome
Patented phytosome formulation by Indena
A phytosome complex of curcumin with phosphatidylcholine. Cuomo et al. (2011) reported approximately 29× higher total curcuminoid absorption versus unformulated curcuminoid mixture.

Xynaptic Drops™

· Liposomal Citicoline

Xynaptic Drops™ is a single-active liquid format built around Cognizin® citicoline, encapsulated within a liposomal lipid bilayer constructed from sunflower lecithin. The ingredient dossier covers the citicoline research; the delivery format page explains how liposomal encapsulation works and what we can and cannot claim about it.

03

Xtra-Brain®

· Multi-Strain Probiotic + Prebiotic

Xtra-Brain® combines nine probiotic strains plus FOS prebiotic fiber, framed around the gut-brain axis. The dossier is the most evidence-nuanced page in the section — with radical transparency about which strains have direct clinical evidence (two), which research uses different strains (most of the gut-brain axis literature), and where the limits of probiotic-cognition research currently sit.

How to read these pages. Each ingredient dossier is structured the same way: hero summary · quick stats · what it is · research timeline · how it works (mechanisms) · how it fits in Nutropx products · human clinical evidence (with color-coded study cards) · honest evidence summary · why we selected this form · dosage and timing · safety and tolerability · frequently asked questions · full reference list. The "What the research actually says" sections are the honesty layer — if you only read one section, read that one.
